This may be considered a little off topic but I'd appreciate your help. I'm burning a cd that I would like to play in my car (if that matters) and I just can't figure out what format to use. I assumed wav but I don't know if I should use the 16 or 24 bit option because the 24 bit opption then says you can use either waveformatextensible or something else. Would these work on cds? What sample rate should I use? Is wav even the correct option? I'm just looking to get a good quality sound on a cd. Any help is appreciated as the google technique turned up nothing for except that you guys know what you're talking about.

Either your car player can play mp3 or wma disks (in which case it will also play standard CD format also) or it will only play standard CD format. Your program for burning your audio to disc will handle the conversion to CD. Your burner program will definitely be able to work with 16 bit wave files (forget about 24 bit). It may be able to convert audio from mp3 (or even other formats) pretty straight to CD also. Check the information for your burner program.

Best wishes,
Bill
