New build posted, above complaint has been addressed (album defined by folder = YES suppresses offending behavior).

            Hi Peter,

The new build works fine, rescan is very quick.
And looks like multi disc albums works also fine.

I've noticed when using free format text for multi disc subfolders, the discs stay together as one album only when using the disctotal tag. I didn't use this tag, only the discnumber. My mistake, will improve my life :-)

            Which gives the following question.
Is it necessary or recommended to always (!) use disctotal and tracktotal? Also for 1-disc albums?

              Re: Asset UPnP R2024 beta

The Dispay Setting option "Multi-Disc Albums show as '[Disc] [Track] [Title]'" only works when the disctotal tag is used or when using discnumber x/y (discnumber combined with disctotal).

But then Asset adds the discnumber to the albumtrack tag.
              Which gives this weird presentation:
              101 1. tracktitle a
              102 1. tracktitle b
              ..
              201 2. tracktitle x
              202 2. tracktitle y
              etc.

              For me this adds nothing.
              Using just tracknumber 101, 102, ..., 201, 202, etc. is perfect enough.

Tracktotal doesn't actually do much in Asset.
Disctotal is used to detect apparent multi disc albums and apply track renumbering fixes, so it's recommended to have it if album consists of more than one disc. I personally just remove disc number & disctotal information from single disc albums, but Asset should work just fine either way.

hi, is there a way to configure the browsing tree so that albums are sorted on release date when drilling down on artist, but without the year being tagged on to the displayed album name? I would love to be able to do this when using Asset. Am I getting something wrong with already available options, or if not, can this be added to the next release? Thanks.

could an option to suppress addition of Year to the presented album title when sorting albums on year be added to a future release?

Is there any further functionality to test within this Beta release?

Hi, Is there advantage to running bookworm over bullseye on a RPi2 that primarily runs Asset UPnP headless under DietPi?

                              Thanks,
                              Simon
