Windows builds are only available for stable releases.

Upgrading from previous versions
Install on top of registered (without uninstalling!) to use beta as registered.
2024-10-09 bug fix requires "Clear database, rescan all folders" to take effect / find missing covers.

Reverting to stable version
You can safely revert to last stable version, worst thing that can happen is that incompatible / newly added settings will not be utilized.
Synology NAS arbitrarily blocks replacing package with a lower-version-number version of it, but you can use "backup & restore" page of Asset to download full backup of Asset settings, then uninstall / reinstall / restore settings.

Build 2024-08-23 changes:

• Fixed a regression causing failure to play media from Mac OS volumes.
• Auto updater part of Web Config cleaned up.
• Mac: Auto updater prevented downloading of updates that require newer Mac OS than currently running - will get newest supported version.
• Fixed folders ending with ._ being treated as temporary and not indexed for music.
• ID3v2.3 tagging, if artist sort, or album artist sort was a known '/' artist, such as AC/DC then preserved, otherwise was being split as AC; DC.

Build 2024-08-26 changes:

• Addressed recent performance regression that could result in slow browsing on some devices.

Build 2024-08-30 changes:

• When both embedded and external album art is present, embedded is preferred (restored old behavior).
• Added option not to fill blank Artist info from Album Artist.

Build 2024-09-06 changes:

• Fixed regression from previous build causing spurious info reloads on files that didn't change, if both internal and external album art is present.

Build 2024-09-16 changes:

• Internet Radio streams: made send Accept-Ranges: None to prevent clients from attempting tag reads or seeking on nonseekable sources.
• Added user radio stream list, editable under Advanced settings. Work in progress, for now they show in TuneIn Radio root folder.
• Web Config: Restored option to override transcoding format for internet radio, was lost earlier this year.

Build 2024-09-20 changes:

• Fixed a recent regression causing errors with MP3 transcoding.
• Fixed incorrect reading of tags containing high Unicode range characters such as emoji.
• Linux/QNAP/Synology: Fixed playback of radio streams using HTTP 0.9. (Mac/Windows not affected)

Build 2024-09-21 changes:

• Fixed another album art vs spurious reload regression, unnecessary info reloads were occurring on files with no album art.

Build 2024-10-09 changes:

• Fixed embedded cover art reading regression.
• Mac: Fixed a bug that could cause external covers not to be served.
• Please do full library rescan if you're affected by either of these bugs.
• Web Config: Made IP addresses shown in control point list.

Build 2024-10-28 changes:

• New experimental feature: Radio-Browser.info integration. Hidden by default, must be manually added in Browse Tree for now.
• Split Internet Radio browse tree into 3 sections: TuneIn, user radio stations, Radio-Browser. User radio stations no longer shown under TuneIn.
• CPU and memory usage optimizations, improved responsivity when serving very large folder listings.
• Restricted listing to 20000 tracks & 10000 subfolders per folder, to prevent Asset from using large amounts of memory and becoming unresponsive.

Build 2024-11-05 changes:

• Fixed previous build's regression resulting in missing albums/artists in large lists. Limit of 10000 subfolders wasn't working correctly and has been dropped.
• Limit of 20000 tracks per folder has been increased to 50000.
• Known control points list is now up to 20 items, ordered by most recent activity and can be cleared.
• Improved behavior of RadioTime vs "as is single" streaming.
• Suppressed folder monitoring if not configured to monitor for changes, or configured for forced periodic rescans.

[SimpleArtist] override is present. If it doesn't work as intended / still has compatibility issues, please report and I'll review it.

Regarding [SimpleArtist]-
I made it send just dc:creator and strip everything else. Since that doesn't work for your control point, I'm changing it to send upnp:artist instead, per old discussion.

Regarding ={no-identification}
It has been this way since at least 2017, I can't just change it, it would suddenly change behaviors of existing working configurations.
We're changing the doc to say the right thing.

Installed on RPi2 (32-bit ARM), rescanning of entire library was certainly faster with r8 structure.
Noticed some new settings, namely &*8220;Fill missing Album Artist tags&*8221;.
Will advise, as library changes and changes are picked up.

Try downloading it again, you might only have half the install.

I've tried downloading and installing at least 3 times and still get the same error. Here's a screenshot showing the consistent file size between two downloaded files. Could the Synology file be corrupt?

Asset no longer supports Synology DSM 6.x, because I don't have a DSM6 machine to test Asset on, and there's no downgrade path from DSM 7.x.
Please stick with old Asset versions if you run DSM 6.x.

Hi PeterP, If your reply about DSM 6.x was to me, my DS1821+ was running DSM Version: 7.2.1-69057 Update 3 for the first 2 times I tried to install this beta and Version: 7.2.1-69057 Update 4 the last two times I tried to install it.

Hi PeterP, If your reply about DSM 6.x was to me, my DS1821+ was running DSM Version: 7.2.1-69057 Update 3 for the first 2 times I tried to install this beta and Version: 7.2.1-69057 Update 4 the last two times I tried to install it.

Thanks for the new features, especially the amended [SimpleArtist]. Will there not be a Windows beta, only the final version? Just curious (don't want to push anything if it delays the final version). We want to test [SimpleArtist] on a Cambridge streamer.
