    Save ISRC without hyphens

I'd like an option in CD Ripper to save the ISRC without hyphens.

    Re: Save ISRC without hyphens

My drive for ripping (Plextor premium2) is reported as being able to read ISRC, but cd ripper does not read them. (Also does not report UPC, but don't know whether the ripper software suppors this field). Running on WinXp x86 with scsi passthrough.
Settings in Metadata/IDTag options are checked for both UPC and ISRC. Both these are also enabled for perfectmeta retrieval. ISRC does not show up on main screen neither on insert nor after ripping is finished, also not in the encoded files. Why?

    Manufacturer: PLEXTOR
    CD Drive: CD-R PREMIUM2
    Firmware: 1.03
    Serial: 10/01/07 16:00

    Current Speed: 7056 KB/sec (x40)
    Spin-down After: 2 minutes
    Buffer Size: 8 MB
    Accurate Stream: Yes
    C2 Error Pointers: Yes
    Reads ISRC: Yes
    Reads UPC: Yes

You would have to specifically Metadata drop menu >> retrieve from >> isrc

CD-ISRC and CD-UPC were already checked. If I chose Retrieve from - CD-ISRC nothing happens. If I first clear metadata then Retrieve from - CD-ISRC, nothing still happens. Same for UPC.

Tried it on my workstation (non-ripping) machine, doesn't work there either. (It's enabled in ripper-options-metadata and in ripper-metadata as specified above)

ISRC extraction works fine using PlexTools XL 3.16 on the Plextor Premium2 drive (winxp) - with the same disc that i tried with above.

Some plextors had non-standard ways of reading things such as ISRC and c2.

                Re: Save ISRC without hyphens

I have the same problem with Plextor PX-880SA and PX891SA- I can read ISRCs with other rippers but dBpoweramp.
Spoon, do you have a list of CD drives that dBpoweramp actually "likes" in terms of extracting the ISRC codes?

                    Shame.
Any chance for tweaks (Re.ISRCs extraction) that would make CD ripper much more flexible and as a result Plextor drives friendly?
                    Thanks.

It is not planned as I am not sure of the code to fix it.

Are you sure that the ISRC and/or UPC is actually available on the CDs? I always rip from one or two CD players and only occasionally do I get ISRC data and almost never UPC information. I assumed and still do believe that the information is just not there to retrieve on many CDs.

If it is there, I certainly want both. Sound Exchange here in the USA wants ISRC data reported as part of their scheme to collect data on Internet 'radio' streaming.
