I think converting midi will always be a hard issue. because of the nature of midi it will always be difficault to achieve good results.

if anything perhaps the ability to play a midi file (without the conversion bit) would be nice.

a lot of people just run a cable from the output of the soundcard and loop it back into the input and then play and record at the same time into another format.

      midi plz

Is it necessary to worry about quality when converting to a midi? Would anyone be doing anything with the midis other than making ringtones? That's all that I want the midi for.

ringtones? there are millions of music midi files out there.

hmmm... well all you need to do is what i said in the previous post using your sound card. or you could download awave studio as it will convert from midi. http://www.fmjsoft.com/awframe.html

is there a specific ringtone you wanted? i'm sure there would be some in wav format around.

converting from midi would only be easy, u would need to ude the directx built-in dls file(which contains wavs of all the istruments). all that might be hard is the mixing of the wavs into one wav output

Please don't revive 2-year old threads that you apparently didn't even read.
