Re: Asset Control Discussions - Disc/Track order

You can dump the database that asset is using, run the program

    C:\Program Files\Illustrate\dBpoweramp\uMediaLibrary-dumpdb.exe

And after the database is shown in notepad, save to .txt then load into excel, and it will show correctly in rows and columns. You want to look at disc number for a given track.

Re: Asset Control Discussions - Disc/Track order

I ran dumpdb and got an empty file. That seemed strange, so I changed Asset to run as a local account rather than as a service. I did a rescan and everything looks OK now.

      Thanks,
      Mike

How does one close Asset control when running on a PC? I can't find an exit button and have been using Task Manager. Thanks

Alt + F4 or move the mouse to upper right of screen and click close.

            Full Screen versus Window

            Hello,
When I start Asset Control it comes up in Full Screen mode.
Is it possible to have the program run in a Window?
            Thanks,
            Chip

IF you run the configuration program it is an option there.

                Hello,
I am using Asset 4.1 Premium Registered.
I have clicked the EDIT button to review the options but do not see the option to change Asset Control to allow the WINDOW option.
Can you direct me to the correct configuration option to make this possible?
                Thank you,
                Chip

                  Re: Asset Control Discussions

Many thanks Spoon for directing me to Asset Control. Downloaded and it is seeing my media library no problem. When I try to play though , through Arcam AVR, it attempts to begin to play but nothing happens. The Arcam display comes up with DMR Playing, asset UPnP etc but no sound. Have no problem playing through WMP but Would prefer to use Asset for its superior performance and functionality. Thanks

Is there any news about the iOS implementation of Asset Control?

It is very unlikely to happen.

                        Re: Asset Control Discussions

Hi Spoon, I don't want to come across as a pain in the backside as you're obviously busy and have been more than helpful in resolving most of my issues this week. After reading through this thread, I was just wondering whether Asset Control development has completely stopped or has just temporarily paused? As a new user of both Asset Control & Kinsky, I have concluded this week that your product works almost flawlessly until it has played a few tracks and then hangs, leaving no option but forcing Control to exit in Windows Task Manager - a problem other users have reported in the past. If development is continuing, albeit slowly, is there any way for users to provide further information so as to help?

                          Re: Asset Control Discussions

There is no real motivation to finish it. We started at a time when we were hoping all the high end manufacturers would come together to common standards, however they went for proprietory apps, so everyone just uses the app which the manufacturer develops. All the 3rd party control points are no longer developed (I can list 6).

                            Re: Asset Control Discussions

That's a real shame and rather frustrating. I've obviously come to the market a bit late with an older piece of audio equipment with no propriety app, where finishing a product like this would be a real help.

What generic control points are others commonly using and could recommend please?

If you use an iOS device it might be worth investigating Lumin - there are a fair few folk on the Linn forum who use it with Linn streamers, although I don't simply because it doesn't allow you to adjust volume within the control point on a Linn device.
