    Re: dBpoweramp Music Converter R12.3

As it says in the first post, if you have Reference you are supposed to install the beta over-top of a registered reference install.
OK, that is what I did when i installed the beta...sort of. When I ran the beta installer, it said it had to uninstall the old version, prior to installing the beta. Then it asked to reboot and after that reboot the beta got installed...

Now what am I supposed to do?

You aren't supposed to uninstall the old version but leave it installed. The installer suggests uninstalling the old version but if you do this you lose your registered status.

If we were to override very specific instructions in the installer I'd think you state that specifically in your instructions. But that would require typing out those instructions fully and we know how little of that occurs here.

AGAIN - WHAT AM I TO DO NOW?

If they say to install the beta over-top of a registered reference install then you should NOT uninstall the old version.
Now you should uninstall the beta, reinstall the registered reference install and then install the Beta without uninstalling the old version.

situations such as this will continue to be both a problem for users and spoon (cause of the additional support required) until the installer is smart enough to do what should be done instead of leaving the user to guess.

This is a beta, it is technical has specific requirements which are technical. If you want the easy route wait for the full release which can be installed through registration retrieval.
