Adds / removes ID Tags before encoding.

Re: R12 DSP Effects Beta Test

        Hi Spoon...

How about adding the "utility" codec for mp4optimize as a dsp effect. In 11.5, I used to run mp4creator -optimize as an "after conversion run" command, but that feature seems to no longer be available in dmc 12? (Or am I missing something)???

But could it run as a DSP effect?

        Thanks.

You do know that the mp4 optimize is available as a dMC utility codec in the m4a beta thread, correct?

There will be a run after conversion dsp effect soon.

(Sigh) ... yes, of course I knew that...which is exactly what my post was referring to. I was suggesting a way to run that codec as an after conversion step since R12 seemed to have removed the after conversion run feature.

Just a convenience thing, to be able to encode .m4a and optimize all at once rather than to have to encode them and then run the optimize codec separately.

But Spoon answered my question....thank you very much!

Great release by the way! CD Ripping improvements are especially impressive! :smile2:

Re: R12 DSP Effects Beta Test

Does the ID Tag Processing DSP also add album art as a tag to files?

Edit: Figured it out myself. It does, but only by importing the album art from a folder.jpg. It can also export a folder.jpg from embedded album art.

Edit 2: However, this begs another question: To add album art this way to existing files, do I need to encode them to the same format to a different directory and then copy the new files over the old ones?

                  Yes re-encoding is required.

Re: R12 DSP Effects Beta Test

I ignored DSP Effects until I heard that it was the way to Delete Source file, and now I've looked at them they seem very interesting. A couple of comments, though:

                    1. This is me being thick but.... I went to convert a file, selected the "Delete Source File" and clicked Cancel. I then made a copy of an existing track, and went to Convert again so that I could test Trim Silence. It left "Delete Source" in the list. I thought this was because I was overwriting the same file. When DBPowerAmp finished, my new file was missing. Pretty obvious really, but perhaps Delete Source should only work if you're actually converting rather than just applying an effect? (And maybe it shouldn't remember your setting if you click Cancel?)

                    2. Or how about just an option to apply an effect without converting?

                    3. Trim Silence is a nice one, but how about something to deal with those annoying bonus tracks that most albums have at the end. IE when you have 20 minutes of silence before a "hidden" track. I would love something that could take the hidden track and turn it into a new file.

Other than that, keep up the good work - thanks very much! And the lifetime reg for the power pack has been an absolute bargain I must say.

                    John

Cancel will not undo any changes to codec compression settings, or dsp effects added.

                        Normalize stop on big files

Hi. Voluime normalize won't work with long files, from half an hour long. It just stops.

Which volume normalize type are you using (and the settings)

You have tried leaving it to do the normalize? it could take a few minutes.
