    Cassette conversion

I have a whole bunch of music in cassette form that I want to convert to MP3. Do I use the same method as LP conversion? I tried with one cassette and when I played the download, although the song was there, there was terrible buzzing sound (like a bad earth connection). Would appreciate any advice.

Which input socket did you use on the PC? if possible use the line in and adjust the volume on cassette player before the volume on pc.

Thanks for a speedy reply Spoon. Mine is a Sony Vaio PCG-FX950 (4yrs old)notebook. It has 3 inputs, TV, headphones and mic. I used the mic (stereo) input to download. From the cassette player, headphone out. ?????

Not much choice, try lowering / raising the volume on the cassette player, also make sure the PC is set to record from the right input (Options >> Input Source).
