ape to flac problem

Hi all this is my first post.
I followed the steps to convert an APE file to FLAC. It only took 2 seconds to finish. It produced an output FLAC file but it was only 3325KB compared to the original APE file size of 570,555 KB and only played for 3 seconds or so.
System = Windows 10 Pro
DB Poweramp version = 16.2 64-bit.
Can anyone suggest what’s happening please?

The ape files seems quite large, what created it? and can you play it in other players?

Are you able to try other ape files?

Hi thanks for the answer. I don&*8217;t know how large an APE file usually is. I downloaded some Indian music; it&*8217;s an album that I used to have on cassette. In the folder that I downloaded, there are 2 APE files, presumably each contains half of the album. It will play ok on GOM Player. I don&*8217;t have any other APE file to try.
