Hi,
Before I begin, I have read the threads that have already been posted on things related to this issue.
I'm running Windows 7, SP2 (wanting to avoid Windows 10)
I have tried and checked the posted suggestions:
Turned off the pop up
along with other suggestions I found on the internet related to explorer crashes on my PC, such as:
Turned off thumbnails - only icons
Anti-virus scan - nothing
Updated my Video card driver - no change
Tested my RAM - no problems detected
Ran a System File Check - nothing
I have been using the trial version for about 3 weeks. I have used this program nearly every day when working, so I know that I need it by now. This morning, I purchased dBpoweramp and installed the registered version. Then things quit working. I kept getting the pop up error message:
"provides audio information for dbpoweramp"
That gave the following details at least once (other times, I was too quick to dismiss the pop up):
Problem signature:
Problem Event Name: APPCRASH
Application Name: GetPopupInfo.exe
Application Version: 16.1.0.3

The ntdll.dll is why I tried turning off thumbnails. It didn't change anything.
After a while, it just started crashing explorer anytime I opened my files to work. When I say this, I mean ... I open my files, hover over a file, like an mp3 file, and explorer crashes. I tell it to restart. I open my file again ... presumably to get some work done ... explorer crashes AS SOON AS I hover over a file again. So I tell it to restart. Open my file yet again ... and this goes on ad naseum until I decided to finally check out what's going on. Hours later ... here I am asking for some help. I haven't gotten anything done ... except testing for how to get your program working ... since I installed the registered version of dBpoweramp. :(
Here are just two examples of the detail list:

After exhausting all possible causes or solutions that I'm aware of, I deleted dBpoweramp. Problem gone. ... So ...
I would really appreciate it very much if someone can advise me on how I can use this program without the upsetting mess with explorer crashing. I can't get any work done at all like that. If I can't find a solution, I will request a refund, because it hasn't worked since I installed the registered version. And then ... I will have to look for another solution.
Thank you!
