    DTS Audio CD

I have a few DTS 5.1 Audio CD's. (ie. The Police - Every Breath You Take) that I would like to rip to FLAC and/or Apple Lossless. The issue is all I hear is noise. Even when I use the play button on the rip tool. I believe that means I do not have a codec to play the audio with.

Please advise on if there is one in "Codec Central" that I need to use or how to accomplish a successful rip.

    Thanks.

Normally you would feed the digital out of the PC to a AV decoder which would decode and supply the 5.1

I want to rip it. It will play thru VideoLAN, and I could save the stream that way, but its not ideal. If VideoLAN can play it there must be something out there that will do this....

You need a DTS decoder. dBpoweramp will decode if the wave file has a DTS format header and you have the DTS ACM codec installed.

Well, I'm on windows 7 and have the shark007 codec pack installed. it includes ffdshow... however, it maybe the header is missing because I never see the ffdshow icon in the tray when attempting to play or rip.
