how to convert from flac level 8 to flac level 0...

without having to overwrite the original file and the destination folder is the same as the source folder.

I was hoping like this is possible:

    original file: 01. track1.flac
    new file: 01. track1 1.flac

    or something like that.

    thank you very much

You can use Dynamic naming with

    [origpath]\[origfilename][unique]

I tried the suggestion and I did not see any new files in the source folder.

If I use "original folder" as output location and use WMAL as output format, it works fine.

      any other ideas?

      thank you

Click List / Rename button at the top to show where the files are going.

the source is d:\music\temp. According to List/Rename, the destination is "music\music\temp" (take note the lack of drive letter in the destination).

          could this be a bug?

          thank you

update: I just checked and it seems the files goes to the music folder inside my documents.

another update: it seems "dynamic naming" uses the location specified in "folder". I thought "folder" and "dynamic" are separate settings without any relationship to each other. This isn't the case.

Dynamic naming first uses the root specified in the Folder path and builds off of it.

out of curiosity, why would you want to convert from level 8 to level 0?
