How do I fix naming and tagging problems

I am using the default naming string posted in the naming tutorial. I rippped DAve Matthews and Tim Reynold Live at Luther College. I am using R13.

    1. For artist/album artist I get
    "Dave Matthews and tim Reynolds"
Why doesn't it capitalize the first name of the second artist?

    2. One of my tracks had the results: accurate rip (38) in red and secure which i take to mean differs from 38 other people. In the tag it read confidence (38)...but that the opposite of what it should say.

    3. Publisher "RCA" comes up "Rca"

    4. the first time I ripped i got "style" tags but on subsequent rips its not there.

    Thanks for the help.

RE2: What was the exact ID Tag value (right click on track >> Edit Tag).

You must be using the DSP effect ID Tag processing with a capitalize option set.

Re: How do I fix naming and tagging problems

for tim instead of Tim its affecting "artist", "band", folder name, and track name.

      RCA is in Publisher tag.

i tried with and without smart capitalize. i use the mp3 tag edito to embed the cover art.

also if the album name includes Disc 1 i get a redundant disc 1-disc 1 in the naming scheme.

i am using multicoder and noticed i had to cut and paste the defualt naming scheme if that helps.

Also wondering why only one track on the whole disc was encoded with ID3 v1 and ID3 v2.3 but all the rest were ID3 v2.3 only?

          Re: Disc 1
Either take the [disc] part out of your naming scheme, or go to the Options, click "Options" in the ID tag section, and just below "Perfect Meta Options" set "Multi-CD Add Disc to Album" to never.

thanx, the capitalization problem worked itself when i recreated the profile. don't really know what the problem was.

Re: How do I fix naming and tagging problems

I am having trouble with box sets containing more than 9 discs. When they are added to my library (Winamp or WMP) it puts disc 10 (and so forth) after disc 1 instead of after disc 9. I am using R13.1 and the default naming scheme:

              [IFCOMP][IFVALUE]album artist,[album artist],Various Artists[]\[album][IFMULTI] Disc [disc][]\[track] [artist] - [title][][IF!COMP][IFVALUE]album artist,[album artist],[artist][]\[album]\[artist] - [album][IFMULTI] Disc [disc][] - [track] - [title][]

What adjustments should I make to correct this, and please be specific because I don't know much about Dynamic folders.

Are you ripping CDs or just converting files? If your ripping CDs, go into the Options in the CD ripper, click the "Options" button beside "Meta Data and ID Tags". Scroll down to the bottom of the page and check the box that says "Pad ID Tags to two digits"

I'm ripping CD's and I already had that box checked (for discs, not tracks), but it's not working. I should mention that when naming the album before ripping, the disc number is usually included (and if not, I add it): example: The Chopin Collection, Disc 1.

I'm confused. Are you manually specifying the disc number in the CD title? What if anything are you inputting in the disc number window?

I usually make sure that it correctly has a value of 1/2, 2/2 etc. otherwise it is not recognised as being a multi disc set.

Yes. Meta Data usually already has the disc number as part of the CD title, but I add it if it doesn't. It also has the values listed under Disc such as 1/5, 2/5 etc. The later values (1/5 etc) don't show up in the CD title when added to my music player (Winamp 5.541) is why I add the disc # manually to the title if metadata doesn't already have it there. Again, I am not very knowledgeable about these things and am using the default Dynamic setting for the naming scheme, which seems to have a value for multi-disc sets, so I'm not sure what the problem is (it's only a problem for sets containing 10+ discs). The only thing I can think of is manually writing in the disc title Disc 01 etc, so that when it gets past 09 it won't start placing them after disc 2 instead after disc 9. There just seems like I'm doing something wrong.

Winamp should be taking the disc number from the ID Tag, never the filename (so it does not matter what is set for dynamic naming).

Which audio format are you using?

I'm using Lame mp3 set to v 2, Secure, AccurateRip. In OPTIONS under Meta Data & ID Tag I have the option next to "Multi-CD Add Disc to Album" set to "[album], Disc [discnum]. Under "Write ID Tags" I have the usual boxes checked: Album Artist, Album Art, Genre, Composer, Conductor, Disc Number, Accurate Rip Result, etc. Further down I have "Track number w/o track count" checked, Disc # w/o disc count checked and Pad disc # to 2 numbers (ex 01) checked.

No. Both Winamp & WMP 11 are ignoring the Disc # for some reason. Below is what the file looks like in my MUSIC folder (rip folder).

                              Track 1: Ripped LBA 0 to 61055 (13:34) in 1:33. Filename: C:\Users\Jeff\Music\Gilels, Emil\Emil Gilels Plays Beethoven\Emil Gilels - Emil Gilels Plays Beethoven Disc 1 - 01 - Piano Concerto No. 1 in C major, Op. 15; Allegro con brio.mp3

When I add files to media player it includes all other info from ID tag, such as conductor, composer, genre, etc. Just not the disc #. Below is what the file looks like if I manually type in the disc # as part of the album title. Notice the Disc 1 Disc 1. It only shows up once and not twice when the file is added to WMP or Winamp. You can see where I typed in Disc 1 next to the album name on this one. It seems as if the media players are taking the album name from here rather than the ID Tag, because I also have to manually type in the album artist last name first (Gilels, Emil) or it won't do it that way although I have that box checked in Perfect Meta.

                              Track 1: Ripped LBA 0 to 30904 (6:52) in 0:57. Filename: C:\Users\Jeff\Music\Busch Quartet\Beethoven; The Late String Quartets, Disc 1\Busch Quartet - Beethoven; The Late String Quartets, Disc 1 Disc 1 - 01 - String Quartet No. 12
