I purchased dbPowerAmp Reference R12.4 about a month ago.
I just visited the site and saw R13 so I upgraded. So far a few disappointments:
1. Poor upgrade policy. I bought it about a month ago and have to pay again. There should be a grace period for free upgrade for customers who bought R12.4 within 90-day.
2. Poor uprgade process. At the end after I paid, it presented me with a link for download and it does not work. It only worked after waiting 5-10 mins when I got a notification email that the purchase was complete. I think it should ask me to check my email for the download link instead of downloading R13 on the payment completion screen. Just very unprofessional IMO.
3. The upgrade does not upgrade the AMG usage period. I expect it to add another 365 days, but no, it extended nothing. This makes the upgrade expensive.
4. Finally, R13 is broken. When I ripped to FLAC, the encoding task is running nearly at idle even when it was set to normal. The encoding process is so slow that it is completely unuseable. Now I had to downgrade to R12.4 for fast ripping speed.
So I paid for the upgrade and got a broken program.
PS - FLAC writing was very poor prior to 1.2.1 when wireless LAN is used for file output. I saw it writing and rewriting the output file multiple times (poor programming). But I'm glad this was fixed in 1.2.1.
