FWIW-
Burning time for a 700 MB data disk with CD Writer r3 also is the same as for a full standard audio CD (20+ minutes), in my experience.

In case you missed it, try the new alpha 4a version of CD Writer 3. It should be as fast or little faster than CD Writer r2.
