I am a registered powerpack user and enjoy your products very much. I have recently changed my internet connection to a lan network, and now when I try to copy music from CD using dMC Audio CD input, I am told that it is "unable to connect with freedb database, please check your connection". I don't see any way to allow it to connect through a lan network. What do I need to do?

Re: Can't connect through lan network
if it's a corporate lan i dont know. is this at work? you may need to ask someone there. you need to know if they use their own proxy so you would put the local URL to it there. and you could be behind a local firewall too?Comment

Re: Can't connect through lan network
This is for my computer connection at home. I have a two way satellite dish. I upgraded to their new transmitter/receiver which is set up as a lan network. I found where to type in the information in the dmc audio input options, I just don't know what to put there. Is the "local url" my IP address?Comment

Re: Can't connect through lan network
this is where i don't have a lot of know how after this. even though i am on a home network myself i think it depends on your router and firewall setup as well.
i am on a wirelss network setup. my cable internet conection is connected to the AP router and my 2 pc's connect via wireless to the AP. plus i have a firewall on both pc's as well as the router itself.
the blockage might be just your router/firewall? stopping you accesing the internet? but this wouldn't be true i guess if your posting here on the same computer that your dmc is on?
have a look at your inernet connection setup and see if you have a proxy and port setting there. in IE6 browser , tools-->internet options-->connections-->LAN settings, and see whats there.Comment

Re: Can't connect through lan network
hmmm.... ok if nothing there then it must be direct connection. you can check if your behind a proxy or transparent proxy here: http://www.all-nettools.com/pr.htmComment

Re: Can't connect through lan network
I went to all-nettools.com/pr.htm and it said "Proxy Server not Detected" then gave my remote address and remote host. Maybe it isn't a lan network, all I know is that an unrelated program I use stopped being able to access the internet at the same time, and I found a box to check that said allow to access the internet through a lan network, and when I checked the box, it could accesss again.
I just called the people who installed my satellite dish, and they say it isn't a lan network, and upgrading the receiver/transmitter shouldn't have changed anything. So I'm back to square one.Comment

Re: Can't connect through lan network
I know there is a slight bug in dMCs handling of Sockets (found it the other day whilst writing an AccurateRip submission program), in the next few weeks a new dMC R11 will be posted, if it is that then it might fix it.Comment

My Internet connection is OK. If I use MusicMatch Jukebox, this soft can retrieve information over CD from Internet database.
I am connected to Internet by a TV cable through a router (private use, home). This is called "Lan connection". I don't use a proxy. The connection is always on. The page on Internet connection in IE is empty. No dialing.
In Audio CD Input, the freedb Server gives me the following information:
- Server: freedb.freedb.org
- Port: 80
- Offline: grey (not set)
- CGI Script: /~cddb/cddb.cgi
- Retries: 3
- Proxy: off
- Auto Dial Internet Connection: off
- Delayed Freedb Operation: off
Is there anything I can do to make it work ? It would be worth because dBpowerAMP converter is a super software.Comment
