      Thank you for answering. I tried to install the new beta version 11. It looks like improving a bit. A few CD's are recognized but many are not. However, asking for the freedb server makes the program hang.

        have you tried different freedb servers from the list? you might have found one that was just having problems at the time.

          Thanks a lot. I tried once again this evening. Suddenly I had a message from the anti virus telling me that dbpowerAMP was trying to gain access to Internet and that access was denied. I changed the setting of the anti virus and dMC Audio is now perfectly working. It recognizes all my CD's. Wonderful !

            well that's good news. i actually forgot to ask about any firewall or anti virus programs running. oh well it's good now :D
