    ReplayGain - iTunes Normalisation settings?

As I am an Apple household, I rip to ALAC. I have a question relating to iTunes handling of Replaygain.

With ReplayGain tags you can tick both Track 'AND' Album. But with iTunes Normalisation it is either Track 'OR' Album.

Why the difference? What is the general consensus?

What setting do most people use?

    Still trying to understand

    Thanks.

    The answer is pretty straightforward.

Most music player apps that support Replaygain tags can use both Album and Track levels. The Album gain tags are used when playing tracks straight through in Album mode. Track gain is usually preferred when shuffling songs.

The iTunes Normalization only works with one setting regardless of your playing mode. So you have to choose which you would prefer as priority based on your library and listening habits.
