    PerfectTUNES Hanging

Have installed reference copy of dbPoweramp and perfectTUNES, - cant seem to get perfect TUNES to add album art. Whether i right click track, use FIXALL or just FIX one - its seems to stick at APPLYING ... and hangs indefinitely...

Using XP SP3, ripping to FLAC

    Any ideas gratefully accepted

Music is stored on a Synology NAS - drive mapped using samba

      >>Do you have any security software?

AVAST installed on PC - have disabled it, but no improvement

Ah - have moved one CD to local HD - and seems to work OK

Is it a problem of file size and network speed, or does it not work at all across network?

Also - is it possible to integrate PerfectTUNES with Batch Ripper to fix meta data as I go?

A network share should be transparent to the system, it should not matter if is 10x slower, if there is an indefinite freeze it points to an issue windows >> nas.

What do you mean? One already has access to all the different sources of metadata ("perfectmeta") during the ripping process. And if one wants to do particular manipulations (fixes) of metadata during ripping, one uses various DSPs, setup during ripping. PerfectTunes would be helpful for already ripped files, but I don't see what it could add for CDs you are ripping with dbpa.

              Hi Garym

Am trying to get cover art also, but doesnt seem to get fetched as part of batch ripping process, so am having to add it afterwards (or trying to - see other prob) using PerfectTunes

are you actually using the 'BATCH RIPPER'? What if you try ripping a CD with the regular (nonbatch) ripper. Does it add album art. Are you trying to add it as "folder.jpg" or "cover.jpg" to the album subdirectory or just embed it? With the regular ripper, what do you see in the lower right corner regarding album art options (it should be showing you the best guess and then giving you the option to look for something else better if you want). This should all just work, so if not, something is blocking this? PerfectTunes is not going to help this problem.

If Batch Ripper is being used without AMG or GD3, then you would not have art work.

Similar problem here - NAS connected to PC, Windows 7, scans all 49000 tracks, says 659 missing artwork - select fix, does maybe 20 or 30 then just stops, bar still scrolling and each cd stating either 'No Match' (the majority) or 'Processing' - btw it took 3 days to scan the library, is there a limit that Perfect Tunes can cope with? Have left it fixing for a day with no change.

                      Re: PerfectTUNES Hanging

The issue is the connection between the NAS and Windows PC is failing (there is nothing in the program which waits, it is the interaction between Windows and the NAS which has an indefinite waiting loop), if you were to bring those tracks to the PC, fix then put back on the NAS...
