I am trying to setup some multi-drive robots and need some help/advice on the best way to connect the drives. All of the drives I will be using are IDE drives.
My choices for connecting the drives are USB, Firewire and eSATA. Here are the questions I need help with.
1) I know there are still some issues with C2 pointers and some USB/Firewire bridge chipsets does anyone know of any issues using an eSATA to IDE adapter such as http://www.cooldrives.com/serial-ata...-adapter.html?
2) What about an eSATA port multiplier...any know problems with dbPoweramp and these?
3) Are directly connected IDE drives the only ones which suffer from the DMA/PIO thing or can any of the above mentioned connections also experience this?
Thanks
