why not add codec/or make a new program to convert video types mpg to wmv to avi...

It would be a good idea but I dont know if it would ever happen because dbpoweamp is an audio program.

Even though dBpowerAmp is an audio program support for video files would be an awesome addition. So like he said in the original post either codecs or a new program entirely could do the job.

Windows Media Encoder can handle some video conversions: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/download/default.asp

video is a large new area to work with... dap is pretty much stable with audio, and adding video would require a lot of work (more than with audio, cause it's more complex...) so I wouldn't expect support soon....

and by the way, dMC is quite capable of extracting audio from video files (such as avi, wmv, etc...)
