OSX trouble converting ALAC

I have some ALAC files, named 01-SongTitle.m4a etc.

When I choose to convert with dBPoweramp, try to convert to AAC files, I get this error:
Unable to decode m4a file (is corrupt or not supported audio type).

But other players and programs are fully capable of understanding...

I've used the dBpoweramp music converter several times without a problem. But I am trying to convert a Batch from FLAC to ALAC,
it's been running for 22hrs now and only 4% complete, running at 1.1x encoding speed... any idea what the problem might be?

R 14.2 FLAC to Apple Lossless has the following Bugs in converting Lyrics

1 Does not convert all of the lyrics. Only converts the first few sentences. Used software TagScanner to compare the lyrics in both files, .flac and .m4a
