    Playlist Database

    OK here's the idea:

I usually make playlists based on genre, music type. I have 'slow, fast, metal, easy listening, comedy' etc playlists.

Also, I have a lot of tracks (in mp3 or other form) on CD that I cycle in and out my ipod from time to time. It's a hassle that when I remove some album from my ipod, then later move it in again it doesn't get added to my genre playlists and I have to do it all over again.

So. My suggestion: Make a (source)filename-based or perhaps better: id3tag based (or better still: both) database of tracks, saying something like:

"Killing in the name of - Rage against the machine" : Metal, Fast, Pop
"Madonna - Something to remember" : Slow, Pop, Vocal

    So:

    - When I manage playlists with sveta, a track that gets assigned to a playlist gets stored in the DB
    - Perhaps when a track is assigned to a playlist made by itunes (in case of ipods) for example, it also gets stored to the DB. Why not.
    - Tracks never get deleted out of the DB (unless specifically asked)

    And, key importance:

    - When re-adding a known song to the ipod, it would (optionally) auto-add the track to the relevant playlists, creating the playlist in question if necessary.

Admit it, this would be a cool and innovative feature.
