I received some Cd's from Europe and can't play them...
CDA format.....and needs to be converted to Mp3 or something that plays...
I did transfer it to my cp....so tried not play directly from the cd...
Any advise, suggestion would be appreciated...

You mean they are audio cd's and you cannot play them as cd's in a regular cd player? And you cannot play them on your pc using a player program like Windows Media Player? What do you see in Windows Explorer when you explore the cd-rom drive where you put the cd?

If they are audio CD do they have some sort of protection present to prevent copies being made.

How did you transfer the CD to your PC? Did you copy the cda files in explorer? The cda files are just pointers to where the individual tracks can be found on the CD thet do not contain any audio at all.

Does Audio CD Inout allow you to view and rip the tracks to MP3? If not what error message do you get?

Methinks the .cda pointers were copied to the HD and were tried to play. I've done this in my EARLY years of windows 3.1 and such, so I assume someone else has made this mistake as well.
