    ac3

how about creating an ac3 codec? its hard to find (ac3) encoders, not decoders. but it'd be excellent if dmc could work with ac3. i've tried the winamp plug-in codec but that didn't work. i have a few ac3 encoders, but none of them are "satisfactory". i'd like an encoder that encodes to up 192 kHz, up to 640 bit rate, and at least 5.1 channels. i know there might be issues since Dolby owns the format. there is the liba52 tho... (i don't remember if its only a decoder). even if there would be a royalty fee involved, (for spoon and/or us) as in using mp3 (sometimes), i'm sure it wouldn't be too much of a problem since dmc already supports mp3 out of the box...
and how about making the wav codec in dmc able to encode up to 32 bit audio? it already goes to 24 bit, so it shouldn't be that hard to make it encode up to 32 bit.
    thanks for your time

    Re: ac3 I agree that's why I upgraded.

Direct show input is good, but I make a lot of DVDs and converting from
MP2 to AC3 is a must. I use Besweet, Besweet GUI and BeLight. I highly
recommend BeLight although it has no batch function (yet). I would
prefer to use dBPower AMP but since it has no AC3 output, *sigh* :o
