Hi,
I like to encode voice audio recordings for playback on my Palm Tungsten PDA. I recently wrote the maker of my PDA audio player (Aeroplayer) with the following question:
> I am frustrated that Aeroplayer won't play the low-resolution Oggs
> I created from some voice audio files. Specifically, it won't work with
> Oggs that are Monophonic, Variable Bitrate, 32kpbs, and 24kHz. These
> oggs are optimal size for the quality of the recording. I prefer Oggs,
> but Aeroplayer makes me convert these low res files to MP3s (Mono,
> 24kbps, 22kHz) before I can play them.
> Is there something I'm doing wrong, or is the Ogg codec due for an
> upgrade, or what?
> I am using dbPowerAmp Music Convertor (-r9) to create the files.
The Aeroplayer support people replied:
> It's the sample rate that's causing your trouble. The Tungsten T will not play non-standard sample rates such as 24 or 48 kHz. This is a limitation of the device, not AeroPlayer.
So, this leads me to write to you asking: PLEASE add the 22050 Hz rate to the Ogg Vorbis Codec so I can create compact voice quality ogg files for playback on my PDA!
Thanks!
