Hi Spoon and all,
I've been using DBPoweramp music converter with the registered powerpack for a few years now... Excellent program, job well done! How you can afford to keep it virtually FREE is amazing!
Over the last few weeks i have been searching for a utility that will automatically change the icons for WAV files in internet explorer... I really need to be able to quickly tell the difference between STEREO WAVS and MONO WAV files. At the moment I either have to wait for DMC's dropdown tag or go into the properties inspector... - it would make things so much easier if i could just tell the difference from the little icon itself when sorting through samples. Maybe just a red wav icon for stereo and a blue one for mono..???
I can't seem to find a program that will do this anywhere, I have found ones that show different logos for different bitrates of MP3 files, but nothing for WAV's at all. It's driving me MAD!!!!
I havn't got a clue how easy it would be to implement such a feature, but it sure would come in handy! I think this would be a really cool function to add as an option in a future update if at all possible. This would also fill a gap in the pro audio software market in general, AFAIK there are no programs on the market that can do this trick at present (there are some go halfway, like CDXtract - but this is only when searching within the custom file browser of the program itself, the icons are not actually intergrated within IE's standard file browser, so for many purposes, it's useless, especially when you have a very large sample library to sort through!)
Anyways, Let me know what you think and i'll keep my fingers crossed for the next update!
Respect.
Graham
