Something I encounter quite with various audio CDs: they will not extract at higher speeds (24x and higher). Lower speeds to 4x or 8x work fine. (I have one disc which is hellbent on being extracted at 1x, but it's an outlier.) I think this is a known complication with CDs in general, and model of drive as well. (I'm aware of all the technical aspects, including some drive FWs automatically slowing down on certain discs, that kind of thing. This isn't a post to debate that functionality.)
To deal with this, I have to navigate to Menu > CD Ripper Options > CD ROM > Maximum Speed, change the value to 8x/4x/1x, do the rip, then repeat the process to switch back to Maximum. It would be wonderful to have the speed in a selection list directly from the Menu, and not have to navigate so deeply.
