You have file selection nailed (the Batch Converter)...and the code to generate playlist files is already in place. Please implement a method to invoke the Playlist Writer at the "Convert To:" level of the Music Converter. The benefits would be _huge_.
I understand how Playlist Writer fits in as a DSP from an architectural perspective, even if I fail to see the usefulness of a playlist generated for a set of files selected for conversion, or for a set of track ripped. Selection for conversion would seem to be driven by the target environment, not by a decision about what might be grouped for playback. The same goes for playlists generated while ripping discs, especially since those files would (presumably) already be organized by folder _and_ would all have a common "Album" tag.
Id Tag processing exits as a DSP and as a direct "Convert To" function. Same applies to Replay Gain. Leave Playlist Writer as a DSP and simply add a means to invoke that function at the higher level.
Please. Thanks.
