I ask because I just tried converting some of my existing FLAC files which showed 1.43 and the converted files show as FLAC 1.5.0 in Foobar

The FLAC version in the latest release is definitely outputting files converted with 1.5.0. However, it is being reported as 1.4.3. in the tag because the .txt document that the program uses to pull the version number wasn't updated, as it still shows 1.4.3.

If you edit the .txt document and update the version to 1.5.0, the tag in the file will then show the correct version number.

The issue is if you include the 'Codec Version' tag, we had not updated that, so even though 1.5.0 was being used, it was writing a ID Tag as FLAC v1.4.3. We have re-released R2025-04-17, visit your download page and redownload and install over the top of the existing if using that feature. It will then show as 1.5.0

Thanks Spoon. I have just seen your post above and have now redownloaded rereleased R2025-04-17 software and it has corrected the FLAC ID Tag as 1.5.0 as you posted. So issue now resolved. I had already ripped some CDs with the previous release of R2025-04-17 but good to know that it will have used FLAC 1.5.0 anyway.
