    Enable year-per-track

    Hi

I have the following change request. For compilation albums and best-of / greatest hits we don't have an easy screen to set the release date of the song correctly. Can we get an additional field in the "Review Metadata" screen, please?

    Detailed explanation:
Compilations and greatest hits albums contain songs with varying release dates. The included screen shot has songs from 1977, 1969 and 1979 respectively, but the release date they will all get is 1996; the release date of the compilation album. (see circled area in the screenshot) Currently, you can enter dates per song in the main poweramp window, but it is somewhat clumsy as you don't have some of the other metadata visible there (like composer and Album Artist). In my view, there should be one screen that presents an overview of all metadata and the most logical candidate is the "Review Metadata" screen. I would suggest a fourth field to be added: release date. It should be added where the blue arrows point.

Secondly, it would be good if the requested additional field can also be auto-populated from the various databases as and when the data is available.

    Thank you for your consideration.

Regarding the databases, I know that freedb only keeps one year and genre per CD, you can, with some futzing, look at and edit their raw database. Not sure about the others. I think most of them are similar, a real deficiency.
