Spoon, similar to an earlier problem with MP3, dBPoweramp reads the bit rate on VBR files as the first bit rate used, not the average bit rate.
Using 2 pass 128 VBR to encode, your program reads the files as bit rates ranging from 90 - 170. WMP shows the files as 128 kbps.
