if there was a button to push in the music collection that searced loaded tracks for doubles, then upon request deleted the small copy

what is the small copy?
and did you mean just tracks that are called the same? because that could be unpractical.

Or if you could mark to search for specific filetypes... like .mp3 and so on... then use the arrange music option copying them to specified location... and if multiple exact copies of specific files exists they would be overwritten with only one remaining? Still unpractical?
