You need to use Auxiliary Input and record the MIDI playing back. There is no automatic method (that I know of) to do it automatically.

I know on the Sound Blaster Live and Audigy line of cards you can set the soundcard to record "What You Hear" so it would, in theory, record a MIDI if it's playing.
