but I've got a little problem: I've got about 5000 songs that have to be modified if I want to use it. So I wonder if you could implement something so we could modify that just once for an artist.
It would be nice...

You mean set an Artist to a certain Genre? easy - select the top of the Artist - hold shift and select the bottom artist song (this is in MMC), right click >> Edit Tag, just change the Genre and only the genre will change for all selected.
