iTunes NORM values

Is it possible to have a DSP effect which will create iTunes NORM values by either reading the file or by converting Replaygain values?

Don't know about dbpa, but mp3tag has an "action" that can automatically create the NORM values for use in itunes from either the track or album level replaygain values. It is nice to be able to do this.

Have you ever tried it....and does it work well? I use mp3tag a lot and never noticed that option. I don't really have much need for normalization, but for the occasional album that's noticeably louder/quieter, this would be a great solution if it works well.

Yes. works well. I have a mirror of my flac files that are mp3 files (created by dbpa) and for all these I use the mp3tag action to create ITUNORM (soundcheck values) from the ReplayGain tags. In my case I use the RG album value rather than the track value, as I prefer this volume adjustment. I've done this on about 67,000 files.

You'll need to setup an action to do this. See this post (and thread).
