display of special characters in these forums

I can't figure out why I see ther term blooper in so many posts here. If it's because there is a setting in the setup of the forums that does not allow certain or all special characters, please change that to eliminate the appearance of blooper in posts.

If there is a setting that is incorrect in my display of these posts, please let me know in a new FAQ what I and others need to configure to see all characters. thanks!

It is to stop spammers injecting hidden code into the messages.
