Ability to rip music only DVDs

Just a question as a placemarker at least.

There are a number of 5.1 channel DVD audio disks around and I was wondering if you are considering supporting this format for ripping?

would it be possible then to be able to rip the stereo music (the 2.0 track) from a DVD? I have a number of concert DVDs that I would like to listen to from my squeezbox (Talking Heads' Stop Making Sense to begin with)

I'd also love if it was possible to rip the audio track from dvds, with tracks determined by chapter. Lots of of live-dvds are not released seperately as audio cds :( By now what I do is first copy the DVD (audio and video) uncompressed to my harddisk, then extract the audio as-is and finally convert it to desired format. It is possible, but I wish there was an easier way.

I have some DVD audio discs as well, certainly would love to preserve them. Additionally, MDG also uses 5.1 channel for different purpose. If it's possible to do, it would be greate.

Just buy "DVD Audio Extractor" already. Quit hounding spoon to add a feature that really isn't needed.

Fair enough, I wish that DVD audio extraction won't be added because there is no need to over complex dBpoweramp when there are great alternative tools to do it.

We just wish that all ripping done can be done with one single tool with peace in mind that we have the best

I believe this is a LEGAL issue, and spoon won't go there.

Not only that, DVD-A is effectively a dead format.
