    ID3v2 support: lyrics, art ...

AMP really could use some ID3v2 support.

For me, lyrics support definitely is a must-have. WinAMP (sorry ) has some nice plugins, LyricsAMP and Lyrix, which can even add lyrics found on the web automatically. (I prefer the Lyrix-style, although it uses an extremely small user base), beacause it allows to add/correct/post lyrics to the central database.

And as requested several times on this board, also album art would be a nice feature, and a real new challenge for skin-artists!

(B.t.w.: is third party plugin creation possible, apart from the skins?)

The next release will support DSP effects, and as I am adding for Remote control, DSP effects can be used as normal plug ins.

I hope there is also a feature not to load any unnecessary components . Because I love how fast DBpowerAmp currently loads up on my 450MHz machine.

edit: vs musicmatch, windows media player 9,(almost as fast though) Winamp,(the worst of them all) real one,(ok maybe not the worst) and QCD Player(my choice if I wasn't using DBpowerAmp)

Yes, lyrics can be interesting while listening to music...
The problem about that is first having the database, I know, I know, if you want something you have to do something fisrt but it can be exsausting when you search for just 100 lyrics, not mentioning collections with over 1000 songs

            Check out http://www.top100lyrics.com/

Many of these sites allow for searching with direct html links like http://www.lyricsdot.ru/search.html?...&match=perfect which makes it relatively easy to write a script that strips all unnecessary html code off the page.

just bumping this up... Lots of my files have lyrics in the tags already. Even windows explorer lets you set lyrics. It would be cool if in MMC there were a lyrics column that would show a little icon if lyrics were present. Clicking that icon would pop uopen a text box with your lyrics!
