Additional "kick-off" selections for Run External plugin

Since dynamic naming variables can only be passed before or after a conversion, it would be great to have two additional options:
    1) Before First Conversion
    2) After Last Conversion

Again, I'm thinking of this from an album art perspective. With the current Run External command options I call Album Art Downloader (AAD) "After Conversion". dBpa happily goes along executing the external command every time a song is converted. I'm able to use a setting in AAD that tells it not to open multiple instances so the same search happens 12 times with a 12 song album all in the same instance. Don't take my request as criticism. This works better than any setup I've ever used, it would just be nice to remove the redundant calls by creating the two options suggested above.

Well, you can do 2) with "After Batch"

From the help file (and trying it before posting the original suggestion):
Click Set and choose the program to run, then specify a command line the program needs to open the file, with Before Conversion specify [infile], for After Conversion use [outfile]. Many more items can be passed on the command line, see Dynamic Naming. [COLOR="brown"]No dynamic elements (such as [infile] or [outfile]) can be used when After Batch (after all files converted) is used.[/COLOR]

If you convert 1000 files, how could [infile] and [outfile] be passed at the end? it is not possible.

          Spoon, thanks for the reply.
This would be an option for someone ripping a single album and wanting to run an Album level process at the beginning or the end.

For example, when passing parameters to Album Art Downloader (AAD) I send it the Artist and Album name. So, with an option like "After Last Conversion" the process would look like this...
          1) Insert disc.
          2) Verify Metadata.
          3) Rip album.
          4) [COLOR="grey"]After the last conversion[/COLOR] Album Art Downloader is called with the Artist and Album as search parameters. It pops to the forefront letting me know the rip is complete.
          5) Select from one of the high quality (usually 500x500 pixel) covers. A simple double click adds the cover as folder.jpg in the ripped to directory and closes AAD.
          6) The cd pops out of the drive and I'm done! (dBpa is set to eject drive when finished ripping).

I assumed dynamic parameters couldn't be passed when using "After Batch" for some technical reason. Is it by design? Allowing parameters from the last file processed when using After Batch would basically be the same as my "After Last Encode" suggestion.

So have you tried using just [artist] and [album] with the after-batch option? Does it work?

Yes, I tried it with the After Batch option set and per my experience, and the help file, it does not work.
The fact that you're having a hard time believing me makes me think it should work. :teufel8:

Well, I've never used this specific DSP effect before, that's why I may seem to not believe you.

Yeah. That was more of a tongue-in-cheek comment seeing as how you have almost 8000 posts and I have almost 8. :p
