Re: Batch Ripper Requests / Suggestions

    Brendan,
Thanks for the feedback. I have a thread just for this topic:

I have been playing with the batch ripper. When doing large batches there is a major problem -weeding out the in-accurate rip discs!! This has to be done manually. I have requested before the option to either: 1)Rip to a temporary directory and move the rip to an accurate or inaccurate directory after the rip or

Aptly titled a Desperate Request as I recently did a large test rip and a major problem I had is that the output was not separated in anyway. This is something that a computer can do very easily while it is quite cumbersome for a person to do. I agree, this is not a batch only request, but IMHO, the batch ripper is almost useless without this feature because of the amount of labor required to go back through the rips.

It seems that this would not be terribly difficult to do. In fact, the encode local DSP seems to be the perfect starting point. You can set one working/rip-to directory and allow the output directory to be dynamic based on the results of the rip.

In addition, this allow for future features such as re-using meta-data from innaccurate rips in the innaccurate directory instead of paying to look them up again. Or having the ripper automatically only select the song on re-rip that are not accurate/secure and need to be re-ripped.

Re: Batch Ripper Requests / Suggestions

Spoon, I am about to start ripping a large collection for a friend - not quite ready to rip mine, still hoping for a few things - but I would really like to be able to either auto-rip or reject discs with HTOA. Seems that adding a reject possible HTOA discs to the batch ripper should be very easy and possibly a 1.x beta could be released with this...

Would this be a good time to review our past suggestions in posts/email and prioritize?
