I catalog my music by the artist's last name. So "David Bowie" would be filed as "Bowie, David".
Usually AMG or freedb have the artist as "Firstname Lastname", so I have to edit it by hand to "Lastname, Firstname".
For single artist albums, this isn't a real problem, as you only have to change one field. However, with Compilation albums I have to individually edit each song's Artist field.
It would be fantastic if there were a right click context menu for a track's Artist field that said "Swap First & Last", or something to that effect, that would turn "Firstname Lastname" into "Lastname, Firstname".
If the Artist name consists of more than two words, it would use the last word as the last name, so if the artist's name was "David Allen Coe" it would produce "Coe, David Allen".
I know this wouldn't work for ALL cases, such as "Ray Parker Jr.", but the few exceptions could be edited by hand.
Thanks!
