    Individual Bad Frame Ripping Limit

I don't currently see any way of doing this, but I would like to be able to put a limit on the maximum number of individual bad frames that the program will attempt to individually rip.

I have encountered damaged discs that have tracks that will present 1000's of bad individual frames that the ripper attempts to rip individually when in secure mode. I have never successfully securely ripped one of these tracks, either the disc is damaged on the label side and the track cannot be accurately ripped, or the disc needs to be polished before it can be accurately read.

I would prefer that the ripper not even attempt to rip individual frames on a track that has more than a user specified number of bad frames (I would choose something like 500). For users interested only in 'secure' rips this would speed up the ripping process, since the ripper would not spend time attempting to rip tracks that most likely cannot be ripped securely.

To implement this feature I would envision adding one user settable field to the GUI. Under 'CD Ripper Options' -> 'Secure Settings' the 'Individual Bad Frames' setting would be something like:

    Individual Bad Frames
    Maximum Re-Reads 34 times
    Set Drive Speed (Maximum)
Maximum Bad Frames To Attempt 500

Have you tried the setting "Abort after Unrecoverable Frames" further down the Secure Settings?

Thanks for the pointer, that is similar to what I was after. I was confused about that setting, it wasn't clear to me that the input box was looking for a numerical value, so I was never able to get it to be anything other than '(no abort)'.

If others are similarly confused about that setting, it might help to re-phrase the setting description to something like 'Number of Unrecoverable Frames Before Abort'. Or some other hint to indicate that a number is the appropriate input.

Thanks for the help, it will definitely speed along my ripping.
