Reference codecs

I would like to see an option when installing Reference to install all, none, or specific codecs during the installation.

Re: Reference codecs

Agreed. I dont need or want most of the codecs that come with reference.

Re: Reference codecs

Its not that I mind the codecs installed, but today I had to do a re-install, which overwrote some codecs with older versions.

/3rd'd for all the reasons mentioned
Want to see Last.FM relationships using your own library?
Want a random mode based on track and artist relationships?

Re: Reference codecs

Only the version.txt would be overwritten, not the codec its self as the version number of the codec.dll is is later.

Re: Reference codecs

OK, so the version aren't over-written, but if I could skip the codec installation when I don't need it, Reference would install faster.

Re: Reference codecs

Perhaps we should do a reference without codecs, something to think on.

Re: Reference codecs

That sounds like a good idea, but do you mean two versions: a version with and a version without codecs?

Re: Reference codecs

2 versions seems more work than making the installer more flexible to make codecs optional than 2 different (and thus even more confusing than it already is) installs.
