Hi, looong time registered user here.
Once in a while Aux Input does wonders for me. Since it's requiring some retro-fitting for r12, figured now is a good time for some requests.
I like the auto-start and auto-stop feature, but they could use some tweaking. When I'm transferring a live recording or book-on-tape, it would be good to have an option to save the quiet part between tracks (presumably by appending the silence to the end of previous track). Since I sometimes set up a transfer and then leave for the day, I don't want to save the silence at the end of the recording. What's the best way to do that? Figure it out and release it in aux input r12.x ;-)
The auto-start feature sometimes skips more than it should, I think. Right now I have it set up to auto-start after just 10ms above 2%, recording speech, and the tracks seem to be missing whole words and phrases. Not entirely sure, I should set up a rigorous test. That suggests another power option- on auto-start back up N ms and begin. For that to work you need more than N ms of silence beforehand, so it would be limited by the auto-stop setting. I think.
Well, ponder all, and do what makes sense. Thanks!
