DaP playing list or queue list

    Hi,

Since I dunno the current terms... in the following post, playing list will refer to the place where you can see, and modify, the files that are currently queued up to be played by the player.

So far, I really like the software and plan on «maybe» buy it in the next following days but, there's one thing that really bug me. And it is the reason of the «maybe».

When I'm in the music collector window, I can see all my collection as well as the playing list at the bottom, or the queue list, call it however you want. On a side note, that buttons and labels of that window doesn't dynamically place themselves if I change the size of the window... at first, I was using it in a small window and was going nuts... Going nuts because I could not see the playing list anywhere and the player was never switching music how I wanted...

My request would be to make that queue list more accessible. Most of the time I don't want to open My music collection just to KNOW what will be the next few songs to play. That's tedious as well as a waste of time/clicks. Also, I have not figured out yet a way to modify the order of the files to be play when they are currently in the playing list. Either I clear it all and add them again or live with it :(

Finally, when I drag and drop the content of a folder into the playlist editor, the files are not ordered in the same sequence that they are IN the folder. This make up for a big headache, or another lost of time, for me to reorder it... seeing that i'm listening mostly to classical music, it's pretty common.

P.S.: Please excuse my poor english :(

Re: DaP playing list or queue list

First of all, dAP (dBpowerAMP Audio Player) is free, so you do not need to pay for it.

Second, dAP does have the limitations you mention. With respect to queued tracks you can right-click to get options to either randomly re-order your queued tracks or to clear your queued tracks. You cannot change their order (at least not within dAP). You can remove specific tracks from the queue, singly.

If this is a major problem there is an application (also free) called QueMaster which will allow you to change the order of tracks within the queue. You can find this application here: http://quemaster.com/quemaster/index.html. This program is the result of one of our members, Donny, who has done much good work to help dAP along by developing QueMaster, by developing an EvilLyrics plug-in for dAP and through his work in developing skins for dAP.

    Hope you find this helpful.

    Best wishes,
    Bill
