Hi guys! I hope that this is the correct section to post my feature request :smile2: .
I'm a new user of this forum, though I'm a DBPowerAmp user from a long time (I've started to use it years ago coz it was the favourite ripping program of a friend of mine).
Now I've justed tested a little the beta of the 12 release, and I had really a good impression of it. One of my favourite feature of DBPoweAmp is the popup window that it opens and tell you in a very fast way the file information (metadata, bitrate,.....).
Unfortunately I've removed it coz it lacks of support for MP4 (I'm a die hard MP4 fan) and so I thought to submit some suggestion for the future MP4 decoder pack (BTW why didn't you kept backward compatibily witht the old version?)
1. Support for the .3gp,.3gpp,3g2,3gpp2 extensions. I dunno, maybe it's a problem with my PC, but it doesn't show info about these files (I mean the pop-up window that I was talking about). 3GPP release 5 and 3GPP2 release 0 allow AAC in their specifications. 3GPP release 6 and 3GPP release A allow eAACPlus.
2. Adding of support for AMR-NB, AMR-WB,AMR-WB+). All these codecs are avaible at www.3gpp.org just like the AACPlus one. Below I list the links (of the source code I've Windows builds if you want):
3. Support for the ALS codec, well, maybe it was already planned and I think that you know the page:
That's all, maybe I'm asking too many stuffs at once, but I did it for the reason that I said before, in order to have a better MP4/3GPP support in future 12 release. Well, I think that using the cli encoder configuration I could use all those encoders in DBPoweamp without the need of a new pack. But I'd like to see info with the pop utility.
P.S.: I'm really exagerating, but could you consider adding support for 3GPP assets? They are described in http://www.3gpp.org/ftp/Specs/html-info/26244.htm .
If you look at release 7 there's also support for ID3 boxes in 3GPP. That feature was introduced by mp4ra website http://www.mp4ra.org/specs.html but it's not used by any player at the moment (the only program that can set this metadata is AtomicParsley, it's also one of the few program that support 3GPP assets).
Thank you very much for the time that you spent reading my post.
EDITY: I'm an idiot. I've started writing without knowing that it was released.... sorry... please try to consider at least some of my stupid request....
