Please add BIT DEPTH to Convert To dialog

All key options are there, except for Bit Depth (8, 16 or 24 bit). I would like to see that added, please.

The main screen lets you set:

    Bit Rate (32 kbps, etc.)
    Channels (mono, stereo, etc.)
    Frequency (22050, 44100, etc.)

and via the Advanced Options, you can set:

    Quality: (with presets)
Encoding: (constant, average, variable with quality low to high)
    Set Bits: (copyright, original, private)
    Write CRC Checksums

I would like the ability to set the bit rate, preferrably on the main screen.

    Thank you.

Mp3 does not have a bit depth, it is a time-domain based encoder and internally depth is held as floating point, so bit depth has no meaning.

This is odd. I have a Sonic Foundry Batch Converter 5.0 app and it is listed there. Is the value of 16 bits for depth generic for all MP3 files by default? Just a filler value?

I did want to say thanks for being patient and working to explain it to me so I can understand how MP3's differ from standard audio files such as WAV.

I appreciate not being talked down to.
