dbpoweramp converter - easily update codecs

i want a release of dbpoweramp converter that lets me upgrade the codecs easily.

all of your codecs on the download page are outdated. also, you say that the old ogg aotuv can't be used to write tags, but the newest aotuv i'm using right now with EAC writes tags just fine.

relying on you to update the codecs manually each time a new release comes out is a very bad design.

as such i've stopped using dbpoweramp at all, but i would very much like to use it again in the future.

All the latest codecs are in the R12 beta section of this forum.

There is no point for aotuv to write tags, dbpoweramp handles ogg vorbis tags possibly better internally.

What Spoon is saying is that the main Ogg Vorbis codec writes tags just fine, why should the aoTuV codec write tags also?

I would like some sort of "Easy Update" or "Auto Update" function for codecs. Windows Update has spoiled us. We don't want to have to go out and actually download these new codecs. We want to be able to click an option and have it auto-download and auto-install them for us.

I suppose the problem with adding this sort of function is that if it has been patented by someone they may require Spoon pay them a licence fee before it can be used.

I had not thought of that. I use AVG Free Anti-Virus and it uses an easy update type of system and think it works well. I do wish dbpoweramp could have something similar. I do hope it is not patented.
